(Alliance News) - Oracle Corp on Tuesday said Netherlands-based retailer We Fashion has chosen to use its cloud services in its 133 stores.

The Austin, Texas-based computer technology company said We Fashion will use Oracle Cloud to "redesign its business processes and increase the agility and security of its omnichannel operations".

We Fashion will use Oracle Retail Suite and Oracle Fusion Cloud Warehouse Management to revamp merchandise management, including stock allocation and planning, in its 133 stores.

The system will use artificial intelligence and machine learning to make more "informed decisions" on assortments, offers, inventory placement and more, Oracle said.

The warehouse management software will "boost efficiency" in distribution centres and "provide better inventory visibility".

Oracle Consumer Industries Executive Vice President Alex Alt said: "By advancing its digital transformation in the cloud with Oracle, We Fashion will be able to enhance security, business processes, and efficiency from its distribution centres to its storefronts."

We Fashion Chief Executive Officer Joris Aperghis said: "As a long-time partner, Oracle was a natural option as we looked to move our systems to the cloud, enabling enhanced business continuity, strengthened cybersecurity, and greater innovation. After a very thorough comparison with alternative vendors and detailed discovery process with Oracle, we chose them."

Oracle shares rose 1.2% to USD162.95 in premarket trading on Tuesday, after closing up 0.9% at USD161.03 on Monday in New York.
